Concerning hair growth over eyes and tear staning of Maltese?

Does hair that grow over the eyes of Maltese bother them? I'm worried that if I cut try to cut it, it'll poke into his eyes :O It's not serious right now, but just what if it grows longer.. Also, what's the best way to remove the tear staning that's forming below his eyes? Does this usually become a huge health problem?

Thanks for all your help! (The maltese is only 8-9 weeks old if it matters...got him on the 1st of Jan!)

Concerning hair growth over eyes and tear staning of Maltese?

If you can,t trim around his eyes then take him to Pets Mart and have them do it and that will help. Also making a dry paste of cornstarch rubbing it on then gently combing it out.I also keep sensitive baby wipes and wipe eye 2-3 X's a day that helps prevent the problem.Hope I helped Good Luck!!!!!!

Concerning hair growth over eyes and tear staning of Maltese?

This may help with the tear staining. Do not feed him any food with red food dye in it. I was told at the vets office last week, that is the best way to avoid the tear staining. I can't promise that it will work, but it might!

Concerning hair growth over eyes and tear staning of Maltese?

Are you going to show him? if not dont worry about the tear stains hes white hes bound to get the stains they will do him no harm, keep his eyes trim or leave it long it will soon fall from his face.....

Concerning hair growth over eyes and tear staning of Maltese?

Take him to the groomer. The sooner the better. As soon as he's completed his shots have him groomed. That way he will be used to it and it will not be traumatic later on.

Maltese are high maintenance dogs that need regular professional grooming. You can purchase tear stain remover at Petsmart/Petco.

Concerning hair growth over eyes and tear staning of Maltese?

Maltese definitely do not require professional grooming!!! Anyone who isn't too lazy to pick up a brush once a week can certainly take care of a tiny maltese. Get yourself a small sized pin brush to brush the dog and a slicker to tease out matts and brush your own dog.

As for the hair over the eyes, it doesn't really bother the dog, but what you can do when it gets long enough is put it up in a top knot. As for removing tear stains, all pet stores products to remove them. It's not a health problem, just discolors the hair is all.

If you want to trim your puppy's hair as he gets older, you can very easily train him to stand still and if you're nervous about trimming the hair over his eyes, use blunt-tipped scissors and do it slowly and calmly.

Concerning hair growth over eyes and tear staning of Maltese?

I read that cold used tea bag will help with the cleaning of the eyes, I have used it on my spaniel - they don't mind it and it seems to work OK

Concerning hair growth over eyes and tear staning of Maltese?

You can let a maltese's hair grow long and put it in a bow. But if you want to retain the "puppy cut" and are afraid to trim it yourself, take him to a groomer. It's not that expensive. We cut Our long haired toy chidoodle's hair with a pair of blunt-ended but sharp edged scissors. We use tear wipes for his eyes and occasionally we have to comb out eye goobers.

Concerning hair growth over eyes and tear staning of Maltese?

Why does he drink from a water bottle? A dish will do fine. The hair that grows over their eyes is fine, leave it alone. Tear staining, that will be an ongoing issue because the dogs eyes naturally tear. You can buy a product at a pet supply that you can use to bleach the stains. Unless you are showing your dog, it isn't hurting your animal.

Concerning hair growth over eyes and tear staning of Maltese?

take the poor dog to the groomers da

Concerning hair growth over eyes and tear staning of Maltese?

You can buy a solution at the pet store for the tear stains, Maltese are prone to them. Put his hair into a pony tail on top of his head, or take him to a groomer to have him trimmed. I personally think the pony tails are really cute. Make sure you brush him every day, matted hair is no fun for either of you.

Prenatal, hair growth, and weight gain?

I've heard that prentals will help my hair grow quickly from ALOT of people. If that is true, Should I use them? And do the make you gain weight? My doc says that they don't but I just want a 2nd oponion

Prenatal, hair growth, and weight gain?

nothing really makes your ahir grow faster

Prenatal, hair growth, and weight gain?

no, im also takin prenatals and they dont make you gain weigh. even though they do curve your appetite, so i suggest you eat healthy and excercise and you wont have to worry abot gaining any weight.

Prenatal, hair growth, and weight gain?

I don't think prenatal pills do anything but replace your body with what it missses during and after pregnancy. Pregnant women have this "magical" hairgrowth during pregnancy soley because their hormones make the shedding phase of hair stop. After childbirth women have extreme hair shedding because when those hormones go back to normal, the shedding starts again.

Taking the vitamins won't make you grow hair faster, it can make your hair grow healthy. Make sure you get your ends trimmed every 6 weeks, and deep condition bi-weekly. Drink plenty of water, and eat healthy as possible!

You can also try horsetail silica vitamin supplement. That seems to work well...Good Luck!

Prenatal, hair growth, and weight gain?

They do not make your hair grow faster and they do not make you gain weight. They can however nourish the hair folicle, which will keep your hair from breaking, which will make it appear thicker and seem to grow faster. If you are pregnant, then yes, you should use prenatals.

Prenatal, hair growth, and weight gain?

Are you pregnant? If you're not, check with your doctor and make sure that you're not overloading your body with vitamins and nutrients that may affect you adversly otherwise. If you really need your hair to grow quickly, get extensions. :)

Hair gel positive or negtaive on hair growth?

Does hair gel damage hair or stop it from growing in any way?

Hair gel positive or negtaive on hair growth?

Hair gel does NOT impact the growth of your hair. Nutrition, health, pregnancy, genetics...they are what determines the pace of how fast your hair is going to grow. nothing topical, except Minoxidil, which is a prescription medication for hair regrowth for a certain type of hair loss will effect you hair growth. So go ahead - use that gel, hair spray, hair glue, etc...have fun!! Your not gonna lose your hair over it :)

Hair gel positive or negtaive on hair growth?

I wouldn't say so.

2 questions (about curl and hair growth)?

ok first question is..ok well i usually curl out

the ends of my hair and people say i look really

cute when i do that. yet it goes down the

next day and it looks bad when it's straight down.

i can't recurl it the next day since i'm going to go

to this thing where you can't bring these hair

curlers and stuff. any ideas on how to keep the curl

for about two to three days?

and second question..my hair is cropped ok?

so the bottom of my hair barely reaches my shoulders

(or is a tiny bit shorter than that). since it's choppy,

the shorter part is 1-3 inches shorter than the

longer parts. i really want the shorter parts to be

about an inch lower than my shoulder by june.

if i kept growing my hair till the end of january,

the short hair will probably be right above

my shoulders. if i cut it choppy again,

how short should the long and short parts be,

so it will grow out past shoulder length

by june 20th? thanks.

2 questions (about curl and hair growth)?

dont cut it. let it grow out. i made that mistake by thinking it wuld be good if i cut it. but still make sure it blends together. if you want your whole hair curly... make your hair towel dried. then get gek and scrunch it up. use a lot of gel. that wont damage your hair like the curler will. also i think you can scruch only the bottom of your hair.

2 questions (about curl and hair growth)?

make it grow longer and then use a curling iron for curling the ends or maybe u just have dead ends

2 questions (about curl and hair growth)?

wow that is confuzzeling! ok for da 1st part put a lot of hairspray in or get it permed like dat!

for da 2nd part use maines and tails shampoo and conditioner! hope i helped!

Eyebrow hair growth?

I've plucked my eyebrows since i dont remember when the problem is i want to grow them out but it seems that the hair is not growing evenly %26amp; there is some places where it is not growing at all. Is there something i can do?

Eyebrow hair growth?

nope sorry uve over plucked and they arent gonna grow back the same EVER!

Eyebrow hair growth?

eyebrow pencil can fill in the empty spots

Eyebrow hair growth?

i had the same problem. when you pluck out a hair, the pore and hair follicle close up, so another hair will never grow out of that pore. if you've been plucking for awhile, it'll take more than a few weeks to grow it out. if this is your first time over-plucking, everything should look alright in a few weeks.

hope all goes well! let me know how you're doing.

Eyebrow hair growth?

Probably not; once a hair is plucked out several times, it kills the growth area under the hair follicle, or someimes damages it so the hair gows in much finer.

Invest in a good powder eyebrow enhancer; pencil looks awful and fake on everyone, but the new powders can be used subtley to create the look you want.

Does facial hair growth in (young) adult women always indicate a hormonal imbalance?

I am 21 years old with no known history of hormonal issues. My period is known to be a little late from time to time buy usually ranges from 30-35 days. Over the past year I have been having mild lower left abdominal pain usually 2 weeks before my period, my Dr. say's there is nothing wrong although I beg to differ. As this has become more infrequent I have been waiting it out. For several years now I have struggled with patches of facial hair, on either side of my chin and also under my chin. The hair is dark and grows quickly even if plucked, so I no longer bother. I am planning to take this up with my Dr. tomorrow. As of right now I am curious as if anyone else has had this issue.

A little extra info-

I am adopted so I have no way of knowing my birthmothers or birth family's history.

My men. cycle started at age 9.

Not on birth control as of now.

In a sexually active relationship with only my husband.

Thanks!

Does facial hair growth in (young) adult women always indicate a hormonal imbalance?

I have the same and on my back and a little hair on the sides of my face but as it's so dark it can be noticeable at times.

I am on the pill now but have never been told of any hormonal imbalance.

It could be to do with your family history but you don't know this at the moment.

My mother is dark and has the same thing so it could be something you inheritesd from your parents.

I know it's annoying but bleaching helps and some creams actually get rid of the hair and have another cream which stops it coming back as thick and as dark.

My mother also tried an electrinic tweezers thing which does the same sort of thing as the creams and worked a treat but it does take about 6 months for you to see any real difference in appearance, however the hair is less coarse and grows more slowly than before so you could give this a try.

All the best!

I also get the abdominal pains you speak of from time to time, this is just ovulation, nothing to do with any hormonal imbalance. I don't get it now that I am on the pill as it prevents you from ovulating so I'm pretty sure that this is what you are talking about.

Try going on the pill and see if you still get this pain after a couple of months on it. If not, this is your problem, if you still get them, get a second opinion!

ps If you do go on the pill, don't go on Microgynon 30, it causes major depression and can cause hormone imbalance. I'm on Cilest and it's great!

Does facial hair growth in (young) adult women always indicate a hormonal imbalance?

The only way for your doctor to find out if there is a hormone problem is for them to do lab work. Ask your doctor to draw up some blood and do some simple tests on your hormone levels to see if they come back normal. A lot of times as people get older their body chances and they will experince a change in their men. cycle and a change in their body over all. I knwo my friend has hair under her chin and she is just fine its just the way her body is. But maybe if your concerned about it and you dont know your background very well it wouldnt hurt to have it done.

Does facial hair growth in (young) adult women always indicate a hormonal imbalance?

It can be a sign of androgen sensitivity, or it can just be the way you are. Since you are adopted, you can't know where you're from, but women of Mediterranean origin (Italian, Greek, and so forth) are notorious for having a lot of facial hair. Ditto for middle eastern women. It's perfectly normal for their genotype.

If you'd just started developing this issue I'd be more concerned, but since it seems to have started in your teens I'd suspect this might be the way you are. By all means bring it up with your doctor, though... they'll be able to put together all the pieces.

Does facial hair growth in (young) adult women always indicate a hormonal imbalance?

It sounds like PCOS. I have it and my cycle became extreme irregular and eventually stopped. I gained a lot of weight, had insulin resistance and grew the dark hair on my face. The good news is that it is a totally treatable condition. The pain you feel during ovulation could be from the cysts on your ovaries.

I would definitely talk to your doctor and name PCOS.

Is this a normal hair growth rate?

I was talking to one of my friends. I have to have my hair chemically straightened (relaxer) once a month or else my hair looks like a lion's mane and just as controllable. lol Anyway, I was tellin my friend that I guess it is a good thing I need one once a month because it is an indicator that my hair is growing. She told me she only has to get hers straightened once every 3 months. Is it normal for hair to grow that slow or is that more of a genetic thing?

Is this a normal hair growth rate?

hair grows between 1/2 inch to 1 inch per month. Your friend may just have the lower end length growth and you may have hair that grows EXTREMELY fast. everybodys bodies, hair, fingernails etc is different so of course its going to be different. It would be one thing if your friend was your identical twin and it was growing that slow then id worry...it could be your hair just grows really fast.

Is this a normal hair growth rate?

hair growth is not a certain number. it depends on environmental factors and what else you do to your hair.

Is this a normal hair growth rate?

It is genetics, maintenance and how do you care for it. Your hair can not dry out. It will break quickly. Conditioning is important. Normal rate of growth is 1/2 inch per month.

African Amercan hair growth and volume products?

My hair is about shoulder lenght. All I do is perm it and comb it everyday and clip the ends every month. All that hair grease and stuff can break your hair. so i don't put anything in mine.

African Amercan hair growth and volume products?

I'm trying to grow my as well. It's almost shoulder length. I get a perm and ends clipped every 2 months and keep it moisturized. After washing and conditioning put in a leave in conditioner (and some hair defrizz) massage and comb it through your hair and let it air dry. Keep heating appliances to a minimum. Try to keep your hair moisturized. Wrap it and wear a silk scarf to bed. Also prenatal vitamins are supposed to help. I'm gonna try that too.

You hair won't grow 4 inches in 3 months. Hair grows about 1/4-1/2 inch/month. Sorry, but if you keep at it will grow and be healthy.

Regarding Pubic hair growth?

i'm guessing hair grows about 1/3" every 2 weeks?

i'm wondering if you wax it each time, (say about 8-9 times) will there be no hair at all there? another words... the completly Bald look? dyeing to know

Regarding Pubic hair growth?

If you continuously wax, you won't have any hair. The waxing itself won't stop the hair from growing. =]

Regarding Pubic hair growth?

Waxing will not permanently remove hair. You can only do that with electrolysis or lazer treatments.

Is slow hair growth a vitamin deficiency? (child)?

My daughter has the slowest growing hair!!

4yo, it was still above her shoulders (while her cousin's was near her behind).

7yo, last year, cut an inch or two and it's grown back but no extra.

She's otherwise a healthy tall girl, rarely sick, but what's with the hair? Can I help her?

Is slow hair growth a vitamin deficiency? (child)?

i know Vitamin e pills and fish oil pills help hair growth, but with that age I'd check with her pediatrician.

Is slow hair growth a vitamin deficiency? (child)?

Go to pediatrician or some dermatologist to see what is it with her hear....They know what to do....

Is slow hair growth a vitamin deficiency? (child)?

you should go and ask a pediatrecian . infact i had the same problem but it got alright after sometime

Is slow hair growth a vitamin deficiency? (child)?

Oh dear some kids can grow long hair and some can't. Thats normal. I have 2 grandkids that r 3 yrs old. One has shoulder length and the other has hair down to her back almost to her rear. I dont think vitamin has anything to do with that.

Is slow hair growth a vitamin deficiency? (child)?

hair growth varies from person to person. this can be despite the fact that both of the individuals may be perfectly healthy. the difference is perfectly natural. so don't worry. however hair fall has a lot to do with deficiency of minerals, especially zinc. in case you still worried visit a dermatologist.

What helps hair growth?

I just had my hair cut and it is a little too short. Is there any products or anything that would work to help my hair grow.

What helps hair growth?

If you want hair to grow faster, you have to take supplements that work on your body chemistry to support hair's growth and strength at its genesis.....once it has grown out, it is just dead keratin

Try GNC, they make a supplement called "Nourishair" in formulas for men and women..they are HUGE pills and you have to take 2 daily. There is also a "Hair skin and nails" formula from Andrew Lessman that you can google, that has great ingredients and is easier to swallow, made by ProCaps labs. You can also take large doses of Biotin, sometimes called Vitamin H, take no less than 2500 micrograms daily to support healthy hair growth. It may take 6 to 8 weeks to see results.

What helps hair growth?

good question....hope you get a good response other then some specific shampoo, some dietary related answer would be nice

What helps hair growth?

i don't know of any products, but when your sick your hair and nails grow faster

What helps hair growth?

Sorry, I don't think any products really work to help increase hair growth. Maybe you can add extensions until your hair grows out to the length you want it.

-Hope I've Been A Great Help!

What helps hair growth?

god knows... i suffer from the same problem.. but i guess oiling them regularly does help

What helps hair growth?

vitamin %26amp; mineral foods..............

What helps hair growth?

Pre-natal vitamins. I use them because they are the cheaps vitamin that has everything you need in it, plus it helps your hair and your nails grow.

What helps hair growth?

Sunlight, everything grows quicker in the summer

What helps hair growth?

moisturise your hair, trim your string ends, take your multivitamins. all these will help in the growth of your hair.

What helps hair growth?

Forget special products. Just keep teh scalp clean, shampooing often with a mild shampoo

What helps hair growth?

well. if you go to the local sallys beauty supply. i KNOW they have stuff for hair growth there,. i saw it just the other week.

What helps hair growth?

In addition to vitamins (prenatals are the best), stimulation... head massages, or lightly brushing. Try brushing your hair in a different direction than normal. It's the same with your nails, if you stimulate the nail at the cuticle your nails grow faster.

What helps hair growth?

a high protien diet and sleep. that shud help. u can always use a combination of either honey and bananas if ur hair is oily or curds, if ur scalp is dry.

What helps hair growth?

They make special supplements/vitamins specifically for hair, skin and nails. You could also take prenatal vitamins. And, eat lots of protein.

What helps hair growth?

Try Women's Ultra Nourishair from GNC ($9.99 - $16.99). It's a multivitamin that has all the nutrients your body needs for healthy, lustrous hair and strong nails. It contains 1200 mcg of Biotin which is beneficial for supporting healthy hair because it may help with normal cell growth.

What helps hair growth?

There are a variety of products on the internet. Just type in your search engine 'how to grow long hair' and see your results.

Black People Hair Growth?

Ok my hair grows rather quick i would say but it always grow uneven. What techiques could i use to make my hair grow and what products would be affective?

Black People Hair Growth?

I agree with the people who say to get a trim every 6-8 weeks but you should also try to figure out why it grow unevenly. When I was younger, the sides of my head grew slower than the top and back of my head. My hairdresser asked me how I slept at night and it turned out that I always slept on the sides of my head. When I tried to sleep differently, the sides began to grow faster. This may not be your reason but it might help to try to figure out why your hair grows that way before using techniques or products.

Good Luck.

Black People Hair Growth?

weekly trims

Black People Hair Growth?

Hola, As you just mention, your hair grows rather quick... Have you consider trimming your ends every 8 weeks?... Scalp hair treatments could help as well.

Black People Hair Growth?

I agree with regular trimmings (although not weekly). I suggest that you use natural hair oils (Natural Oasis or any products by Carol's Daughter, www.carolsdaughter.com)

My hair is also long, I get it washed and conditioned weekly and get it trimmed every 6 weeks.

Stay away from too much blow drying and if you can, set the hair instead.

Black People Hair Growth?

You should juss get it cut more often. And dont wear your up with tight rubber bands, wear it loosely in some sort of clip or down.

Black People Hair Growth?

Start messaging your scalp with natural oils, this will help promote hair growth. I use Dr. Miracles products or Doo Grow products.

More African American Hair Growth?

I am growing out my relaxer, but I am fighting to keep moisture in my hair. Can anyone suggest a good hair product for coarse African American hair that gets dry very often as well as a natural straightener?

More African American Hair Growth?

For transitioning, a good moisturizer is Qhemet Biologics Amla and Olive heavy cream. I've provided the link. It's made with all natural ingredients that support moisture retention and hair growth. I have very dry hair and it's the only thing that works for me. As you will see from most of the people who use it - via the testimonials, it's very effective.

It does not contain mineral oil or petroleum--both of which clog pores by attracting dirt and acting as a barrier to moisture.

Qhemet also carry great refreshing sprays that work well on dry hair. I also like the Karkady Replenishing Spray...works well on natural and relaxed.

In terms of natural straighteners--alot of people will say that they have this--but really its more for people who are all natural and who want to relax the curl in their hair. As the other person commented, Treasured Locks does have a "straightener." But it's really a clay that has be used multiple times and it is more effective for all natural hair that is kinky, but wants a solution to relax the curl. Even then, it's not that effective and can leave you with a bunch of junk in your hair--like sand from the clay...twigs..LOL...not sure what all of that is..but it is not for everyone.

Ideally, you want to soften your new growth and keep it moisturized. It helps to use a sulfate free shampoo, or to use a pre-poo technique. This will reduce the possibilty of drying out your hair during each wash. Avlon's Keracare make a good detangling shampoo...and their are some all natural "no poo" shampoos that work well. I've provided some additiona links below regarding this.

There are styles you can do that will work for transitioning--straw sets, twist outs...I've provide a link below that will talk about the style possibilities.

Miss Jessies has a great product for transitioning...as was as Kinky Curly. Both can set your hair into great twist out and straw-sets without using drying gels.

If you are planning on going for several months to a year to transition without cutting--then the natural style transitions are your best options. As you know, applying heat to the new growth will dry it out and eventually cause it to break.

Several hair care forums have some great tips for transitioning. There are so may tips that one may appeal to you more than the other. I've provided a link to the websites.

Average Head Hair Growth?

My hair is just a little above my shoulder right now and I was wondering how long it'd be in about 3 months. I'm going to get a trim soon and make sure I get one every month or so, and I use Garnier Fructis long and strong. I take good care of my hair, so how much will it grow in 3 months? An inch?

Average Head Hair Growth?

hair grows half an inch per month, on average.

Average Head Hair Growth?

No one knows

Average Head Hair Growth?

According to this website http://health.howstuffworks.com/question... normal hair grows about 6 inches in a year. So, three months is a quarter of a year, which means that it would have grown about one and a half inches by then!

Does protein help hair growth?

Since I got out of highschool in '04 my hair has been getting thinner as time goes on, to the point now where I just shave it on a weekly basis.

But recently in the past month I started a high protein diet, consuming anywhere from 60-150g of protein daily depending on how much of a workout I do.

Since I've started this I've noticed some changes in my hair. For one I seem to have more scalp coverage than I did before, also I'm noticing hair growing in places where it had stopped growing in the past. Is this a result of the protein? Or is it something else?

Other things I've changed in my daily habits the last month or two is I've started using Panteine Pro-V thickening shampoo (but I've used shampoo's like that in the past and I've never really noticed any changes)

I've started taking a capsul of flaxseed oil daily

and I've started taking multivitamins daily

Am I just imaging things, or does any of this really make a change?

Does protein help hair growth?

it depends, i would ask ur local stylest for hair growth vitamans.

Hair growth shampoo?

Im in the same boat missy! I dont know about shampoos but here are some tips:

Hair growth shampoo?

im dying too know also! when syour hairs longer you can do anything with it! mines about 3 inches below my shoulder!! im trying to grow it about 5 inches!!! i need help!!! the girl up there sounds good

African American Hair Growth [HELP!]?

Okay well i really need to grow my hair at lease shoulder length. One side is down to my chin %26amp; the other is down to my ear UHHH!! i HATE this. i need my hair to at lease be shouler length by January 7. My friend told me told use Crisco閳?then flat iron it and it should grow. does anyone know anything i can do PLEASE IM DESPIRIT.

African American Hair Growth [HELP!]?

First, you have to understand that hair grows an average of 6 inches per year which breaks down to 1/2 inch per month. Growing longer hair will take time and patience. I don't think that's what you want to hear since you have a deadline but that's the truth. If your hair is Afro-textured- moisturizing, deep conditioning, shampooing on a regular basis (no once a month business), and taking a quality multi- vitamin (with zinc, iron, biotin), and drinking water will be your best friends. Good luck but don't get discouraged since consistency is key. Oh and PLEASE don't use Crisco to flat iron. It's a recipe for disaster and will not promote hair growth. Instead buy a heat protectant or serum to prevent against heat damage if you want to straighten your hair.

African American Hair Growth [HELP!]?

Crisco is a bad idea.

African American Hair Growth [HELP!]?

use wildgrowth

African American Hair Growth [HELP!]?

well why is your hair uneven? ok. well i heard that if you massage your head it will stimulate your nerves, causing your hair to grow faster. i really dont think your hair will grow that fast by the 7th though, since thats coming up pretty soon. if your hair is kinda curly, you could straighten it to add a little length, but other than that im not sure what else you could do!

African American Hair Growth [HELP!]?

What happens when you heat grease?? It equals frying. You will literally fry your hair which will then cause breakage. The only thing you can do is to trim the damaged ends of your hair and give it time. You should try changing your diet, exercise and maybe use some vitamin supplements. Biotin is effective with hair growth but will also cause acne break outs so use the smallest dose that you can and still see results.

African American Hair Growth [HELP!]?

wild growth hair oil http://www.wildgrowth.com/

i use this oi, and it's all natural and it's for all hair types and I'm on the site,I'm PB this oil realkly works and i tell al kind of people about this oil it can be bought on line and or at some sally's beauty sores for 7.99 that's were i get mien from if you have any questions just email me I'll be glad to help you

African American Hair Growth [HELP!]?

by january 7th?? lol...oh lord just get a weave....

and your friend was playing with you...or i think that she is extremely evil and wants you bald!

you have about a year to go....(or maybe less) depending on your growth pattern.

Don't forget that African-American hair is extremely fragile and delicate (even if it looks rough and coarse)and you must take good care of it. I suggest you keep it braided getting it redone every week or two, and keeping it moisturized. Also, don't forget trim every 6-8 weeks.

but for shoulder length hair by what, Monday after next? Get a quick fix with extensions!

African American Hair Growth [HELP!]?

Currently i have long hair and have been learning alot so...

i do not have a relaxer i stopped getting them 5 years ago ( and i've only have 3 relaxers in my life time so this is all natural) so i can show you how to take care of hair with or without a relaxer.

1. The shampoo, unfortunately many black women are using shampoos with alcohol and petroleum jelly. step away from them. Use Aveda's shampoo.. specifically the name is Brilliant...go to the website. I use it, i love it, it mouisterizes my hair and the products are natural. i have also heard that KeraCare is good.

2. Okay, step two condition it and then it is time to comb it out, Do not use a brush on you hair when it is wet,,it will hate you for it then break off in revenge. Put your your sections use a big tooth comb, to untangle it

3. Do a hot oil treatment atleast once a month with extra virgin olive oil...repeat..EXTRA VIRGIN olive oil..not the regular stuff. unfortunately i have yet to take this step however my hair is doing great.

4. Okay on the daily basis you need to pay close attention to your hair...i recommend conditioning your scalp(3-4 times a week) and your ends(everyday) so that they will not get dry and unhealthy Petroleum jellly and mineral oil are weapons of mass destruction ( in other words do not use grease) it does so much harm to your hair it cannot be all explained here. So you ask what do I use...well natural oils

jojoba oi, extra virgin olive oil, sesame oil, emu oil, coconut oil...all these natural oils and more love you..i promise.

I also use Aveda's Brilliant ( the name of the brand) emollient for my ends.

5. Next,,if you want your hair straight but still be natural it is time to get a freakin good flat iron.,i have the Chi..it does the job but I recommend getting the Sedu because of the good reviews. make sure to protect your hair..i have so thermal protector from Aveda.

6. If you have a relaxer ( i have heard that Mizani and Affirm are the best relaxers) don't continue to relaxer all your hair everytime you go to the salon..just the new growth and try to stretch relaxers as long as possible.

7. You do not need to trim your hair everytime you go to the salon maybe every 3 to 6 months.

8. Wrap your hair in a satin or silk scarf to prevent damage before you go to bed.

9. Eat healthy, drink lots of water,

10 take multivitamins, and fish oil pills you can get from GNC.

Follow these steps and life will be good..the best part about flat iron (which i do once a week or every two weeks not everday since it will kill your hair) is that it is not stringy but thick and healthy, yet straight and light enough to blow in the wind.

Hair growth..Please help..?

my mum is a hairdresser and she just said butter stimutes the hair folicles and helps it grow.

hope this helps =]

Hair growth..Please help..?

There isn't a product that is out there that does what you want it to do. Or else heaps and heaps of people would be buying it.

The only thing to do, is to wait it out and have patience. Hair usually grows half an inch per month.

Try styling it another way or something along those lines.

I wouldn't recommend putting butter in your hair, it'll be disgusting on your hair and will be prone to making your hair very oily and if you get a lot on your skin, you'll be prone to pimples.

Hair growth..Please help..?

Hair growth is reduced and the scalp skin also undergoes flaking and drying up thus not providing an environment for hair production. It may cause graying of hair as well. The presence of zinc is so essential that once replaced in sufficient quantities, it can reverse most of the degenerating mechanisms such as graying and thinning of hair.

To supplement your diet with zinc, consume food products rich in the same such as fish, wheat germ, egg yolk etc or take supplements, which contain zinc. A balanced diet is the first step to good health and this fact should be borne in mind always.

Hair Growth suggestions?

I have short hair and it's time for it to grow does any one have any suggestions?

Hair Growth suggestions?

2 herbs available at your local healthfood store: horsetail and silica. Horsetail, although an odd name, helps promote hair growth, while silica does as well (to a lesser degree). Silica also helps nails to grow. Jojoba oil promotes healthy, shiny hair. Make sure you're eating well and getting plenty of sleep, which plays a huge part in the health of your hair and skin. Getting your hair trimmed will help it look healthier, but it won't accelerate hair growth; that's a myth.

Hair Growth suggestions?

Pray very hard.

Hair Growth suggestions?

Don't cut it?

Hair Growth suggestions?

I think that u should get your hair trimmed every 2 to 3 months, so that it's healthy. This way your hair will grow out in it's natural way and will look healthier once it's longer. Even though your cutting your hair, your hair will look nicer in the long run, good luck.

I have found regular exercise (even just a walk in the park) helps immensely, when looking for healthy, long hair. I mean, I was not getting out much, and doing very little activity, and my hair was splitting, tangly and even my nails were brittle. When I started getting outside regularly, and led a more active, healthier lifestyle my hair is the best it's ever been (and my nails, too). Fresh fruit and vegies help too!

Hair growth?! HELP?

What makes your hair grow super fast?

I want honest answers please =]

And factual ones...

Anything i could buy from a local store like holland and barrat?

Hair growth?! HELP?

Nothing can really make your hair grow faster. All you can do is keep your hair healthy.. use good products, get trims every 6 weeks, don't brush it when it's wet (oh please don't brush it when it's wet!!!). If you take good care of your hair and take measures to prevent breakage, you won't have to get as much trimmed off every time, so it keeps your hair longer.

If you want any specifics for product recommendations, feel free to e-mail me. I have very long, thick hair, and all the product to prove it! :)

Waiting for hair to grow can be a frustrating process. It seems like it can take forever, especially if you are keen to change your hair style.

Nisim International have come to the rescue with F.A.S.T. 閳?Fortified Amino Scalp Therapy. Nisim pioneered research in hair loss in the early 1990閳ユ獨 and brought out their NewHair Biofactors range to combat hair loss within one week. (See Resource Box below)

They then turned their attention to speeding up existing hair growth. The result is F.A.S.T.

F.A.S.T. is a two product system consisting of a deep cleansing stimulating shampoo and an amino acid rich conditioner.

The shampoo is specifically designed to allow your hair to grow as fast as possible - up to 45% faster.

It is formulated for all hair types and will not affect chemically treated hair.

This special blend of actives along with unique extraction and manufacturing methods allows for optimum penetration of essential vitamins and amino acids for super fast growth.

Regular use infuses the hair with everything required to stimulate and maintain a hyper-accelerated rate of hair growth.

The system is fast and easy to use:

Simply wash your hair every day with F.A.S.T. shampoo rinse well and REPEAT.

Apply the conditioner and work throughout the hair and into the roots.

Allow the conditioner to remain on the hair for 1 minute. Rinse well. If your hair requires more extensive conditioning leave on the hair 3-5 minutes then rinse well.

Recently Nisim added F.A.S.T. supplements to the range. These tablets complement the shampoo and conditioner, giving the body the nutrients it needs to add lustre and sheen to your hair.

Many users also see an improvement in the appearance of their skin and nails, with healthier supple skin and stronger, faster growing nails.

Why did I have abnormal hair growth after 5 sessions of laser hair removal?

When I was 20, I had laser hair removal on my face and on the upper portion of my neck. After my 5th session, I noticed that very coarse, long hairs grew along my neck. Before, the hair on my neck was always fine and almost unnoticeable. Well one year later, I asked a dermatologist and she said it had to do with me being Middle Eastern and some lasers have the opposite effect on Middle Eastern people. She said I should try another laser. So I had 7 more laser hair sessions at another place (different laser) and there is barely an improvement. I am guessing there is underlying problem perhaps with my hormones? What could it possibly be?

If this helps, I'm 22, 5'1, 134 pounds (used to be 130 when I was 20), light olive skin, and black hair.

Try blending celery together in a blender, and then using the juice on your hair, it stimulates hair growth. You should eat daily multivitamin pills, too. Also, you should not avoid the hair salon just because you want your hair to grow out, geta regular trim once you see split ends.

Hair growth help?? 閳?

I think you should be patient it will grow back eventually, just keep it clean and brush your hair very often since stimulation of the scalp is very good for hair growth.

Hair growth?! HELP?

Sea kelp helps, i get mine from a shop called savers, not sure if you have one but its the cheapest place to buy it. I take two every day and my hair has become much more shinier and has grown. Not only that my skin looks and my nails have grown!! Also helps with weight loss as it has iodine which increases your metabolism. Hope this helps.

Sunlight and body hair growth?

I've noticed that on all the tanned parts of my body, more specifically my arms, the hair is a lot longer and darker than the lighter parts of my body. Like the outside of my arm has thicker hair, and the inside of my arm has very fine, invisible hairs. So does sun exposure have anything to do with this, or is this just natural?

Sunlight and body hair growth?

Natural...but nature can take action

Hair Growth and Vitamin Questions?

Sooo im taking vitamins to help me grow my uber icky short hair back out

some of you dont beleive in these and some do

for those who do or have tryed heres my question

When did u start seeing real results? and how much faster did it work?

details?

Hair Growth and Vitamin Questions?

The fastest hair can grow is a half an inch a month.. and thats with or without taking vitamins.. besides that it's winter and hair grows slower in the cold. So the quickest your hair will grow is a half an inch.. and any vitamin or person telling you other is f.o.s.

Hair growth... what vitimins or shampoos can be used?

it doesnt have to be vitimins or shampoos just any suggestions on the matter. my sister has cut her hair very short and she now regrets it. if you know of anything that works please help.

i heard somewhere vitimin e worked.

please help. and thank you for your input.

Hair growth... what vitimins or shampoos can be used?

It really depends on the person's natural hair growth rate. (that's what my stylist has always told me) However, nutrition stores and even places like walgreens carry a hair, skin, and nail growth herbal supplement. But read the packaging before you buy or take any pills.

Hair growth... what vitimins or shampoos can be used?

Vitamins A, C, E, and B. Including Biotin. A good multivitamin that contains Biotin will help. Also you can get the Biotin shampoo at the GNC and use that. I feel it did make my hair grow, but there is some discrepancies for other people. My hair grows really fast to begin with though. Anyways, don't use prenatals unless you are pregnant as they aren't good for you if you are not pregnant because the body can't get rid of the non soluble vitamins that it doesn't need and it can make you really sick. Thats why I say get a good multi-vitamin for women/men if you are a guy and a bottle of biotin supplements as well as eat right, and use the shampoo. Also trim your hair before you get split ends, so that more doesn't have to be trimmed later. The actual trimming doesn't make the hair grow, its the trimming so it doesn't break later that does the trick to make it seem like it grows faster. As it grows keep some layers in it to lighten the weight of the hair and give the illusion of more length. Angled sides in longer hair also adds the illusion of length, but its all optional.

Hair Growth Question??

If my hair grew 6 1/2 inches in ten months, is that good?? is that pretty fast? is it over or under average?? THANKS FOR ALL THE INFORMATION I REALLY APPRECIATE IT!

Hair Growth Question??

yeah that seems pretty good. You can use Mane and Tail, that helps grow hair. Yeah it's horse shampoo but I always used that to grow mine and also going a few days without washing helps

Hair Growth Question??

That's pretty fast I think

Hair Growth Question??

thatss good

Hair Growth Question??

the average hair growth rate is 1/2 inch per month, so yes :)

Hair Growth Question??

I'd say that was pretty quick because the average person's hair only grows 1/2 per month.

Hair Growth Question??

Hair grows half an inch a month, so you're above average.

Hair Growth Question??

you go girl because i wish my hair would grow that fast

Hair growth, how long?

If my hair grows pretty fast, how long do you think it woudl take for it to grow long? Rigth now it is about

91/2 in (but it's wavy so it ilooks 7 in) my desired length is probably 12-14in...with the waviness

how logn do you think until it grows to that length?

Hair growth, how long?

Hair grows about 1/2" per month. It should take about 6 months to be 12 1/2" long and probably look 10" long. Give it a year to look like you want it, but be sure and keep it in tip-top condition or the ends will snap off and keep looking shorter. Also, it's a really good idea to get your ends snipped every 3 months or so. Have someone you trust to take just the tips 1/16" off at a time. Happy growing.

Hair growth, how long?

probably like 4 months

Hair growth, how long?

It really just depends on how well you take care of it. If you wash it and get your dead ends trimmed off every month or so then it should grow fast, but if you let your dead ends grow a long time then your hair will grow very slow.

*~*good luck*~*

p.s. if you want to look more into it when you go to get your hair trimmed ask your hair stylist!

Hair growth, how long?

about 2 years

Hair growth, how long?

Maybe 5 months if you take proper care of it.

Make sure to trim off your dead ends every month or so.

This should make it grow faster.

Hair growth, how long?

Maybe about 6 months.

Take proper care of your hair.

Trim off dead ends every month or so.

Hair growth slower?

Is there anything that makes hair (facial, body) grow slower..?

Hair growth slower?

well if you use cream hair removals, it makes your hair thinner and less visible so you dont have to shave as much. but you have to continue to use regularly for a couple of weeks in order to have no hair for longer than shaving.

if you wax, then you wont have to shave as much either.

Hair growth slower?

well u need 2 find out what makes hair grow faster then stop takin or doin w/e that it but then its prob not healthy 4 u

Hair growth slower?

if you wax it , it will last about 3 weeks.

Hair growth slower?

Laser treatments yes it close a bit more but if you want (facial, body hair) gone forever it is the best way to go!

Hair growth slower?

waxing instead of shaving. and doing body and facial scrub. try St Ives apricot scrub for body and neutrogena daily scrub for face

Hair growth slower?

Waxing.

Hair growth slower?

Not that I know of, just dont shave, makes hair grow thicker and faster

Hair growth. How?

How can i grow my hair down my back and make it more smooth and loose like the other races??

Hair growth. How?

Hair growth. How?

Hair growth. How?

Herbal Essences has a new line called "long-term relationship" for long hair that is supposed to prevent split ends for as long as you keep growing it. Plus, it smells really great!

Hair growth. How?

rogain i gess. lol

Hair growth. How?

Hair growth. How?

good shampoo and conditioner

B vitamins

no heat

Hair growth. How?

well cut the tips or your hair every 2 weeks and then in about 6 weeks it should be at your shoudler if its not there already and to make it smoth just use a gell each mroning or something

Hair growth. How?

Well, it depends your race

You are full African American? If so, then that'll take years, and year and intensive care. Especially since most of them use weaves, harsh chemical treatments and alot of pulling and tugging. I am mix african, asian %26amp; other stuff, my hair is mid back, it is easily to grow, and people always say i have 'white people' hair. If your any other race then you should have no problem. Hair grows at an average rate of half an inch a month, with a few exceptions.

But if you are full african, then i advise you not to use any weaves, don't relax your hair to much. ALWAYS deep condition ALOT. wash your hair like twice a week. African hair is naturally very dry and washing any hair strips if from the natural oil. Snip your ends, if you already have dead ends, your hair is not going to grow anymore.

%26amp; Just take good care of it!

Hair growth. How?

take alot of vitamen E. which you can find in eggs and many other foods, or you can just buy these pills called hair and nails from Walmart. I heard there good OH also you could buy Mane n Tail .. it's horse shampoo but I use it and it keeps hair nice and shiney.. as for hair growth idono. Another thing you can do is massage your scalp when you shower so there is blood flow making the hair grow faster? so i've heard. oh and stay away from heat (blowdryer, straightner etc...)

Well good luck !

Hair growth. How?

multivitamin.. it really does work. also helps to stay healthy drinking plenty water eat healthy, and exercise. and try to stay away from flat irons

Hair growth. How?

yeah...go natural. coconut ect. ....if thats not working.....eat lots of mayonaise!

Hair growth. How?

What race are you trying to emulate? Why aren't you satisfied with yours? Not everyone can grow hair down their backs. Some grow hair on their backs! We all are what we are. Even plain genetics might prevent you from being able to grow long hair. Not everyone has the capability. It's not the end of the world. If you can't grow it, get extensions or a wig. Sorry, I know I sound somewhat negative, but wanting something that "other races" have sounds thin to me.

Hair growth. How?

To grow hair, eat a very healthy balanced diet, and lots of protein/vitamin e. Soybeans and soy protein(soymilk) has proven in studies to stimulate hairgrowth dramatically, so you may want to drink that. Also, baccon is supposted to have 2X the effects of hair growth than say, but I don't reccomend eating baccon on a regular basis.. if at all. You can masashe your scalp and ondition with cocanut oil, but make sure you're prettymuch stress free- stress can cause alot of problems, as can coffe. Coffe not only stunts your hairgrowth, but height/bodygrowth as well.

Trimming split ends makes hair look ver nice and smooth, and conditioner/shampoo helps alot, But Hair is made of Karitan, dead protein, same with your anils. Your hair is dead protein, wich is why it doesn't hurt to get it cut. Because yourhair grows from the scalp, or the 'root' the ends of the ahir arn't really that esential. Do avoid lots of tugging and pulling, and even excessive brushing, and you'll probally increase growth rate by 1/10-1/8-maybe if your lucky even 1/6 inch a month. however, if you want overnight long hair, you will have to get extentions!

if you have any toher questions on hair growth, care, or even taking weeks of damage off you hair (from streigheners/curlers/wahtever) message me, im more than happy to help!

good luck! :)

Hair growth. How?

Comment to other answer by angel : WTF? No, it doesn't matter if she's all black or all African!! Your hair will grow like everyone elses if you take care of it right!! Not "years and years"!!!

"Like other races"? Are you black? And are you relaxed? So am I and I had trouble w/ my hair it was the same length for YEARS. It's finally growing! If you want MY hair regime, email me. Also, the following info is how to GROW hair, not necessarily make it shiny, bouncy, and smooth.

(this is the answer I usually give to those who ask to grow relaxed hair)

To grow hair:

Relaxed hair is almost always damaged, especially if you relax it monthly. First of all, keep your hair moisturized. This is as simple as wetting it in the shower, or wetting your hands and running them through your hair. DO NOT buy any moisturizer that has MINERAL OIL or PETROLATUM! care free curl gold and s-curl are popular moisturizers. Do NOT use that Pink lotion!

2)use a wide tooth comb(once a day or less)to avoid hairs breaking.

3)Wash your hair at least once a week with shampoo. I wash mine with JUST conditioner sometimes too after working out, or when I want to subtely clean hair

4)after shampooing, DEEP CONDITION by putting conditioner on your hair and putting a plastic cap over it and leaving it on for 15-30 minutes

5)massage your scalp daily

6)do not put any oils or "grease" on your scalp. Same goes with hair just for the sake of oiling your hair. Their are however topical treatments that you can put on your scalp if they contain something like Indian herbs or sulfur.

7)Try to relax your hair less. Every 8-10 weeks or longer!

8)You know your hair is breaking because if you look on the ends you will not see a white bulb. If you DO see a withe thing on the end, that is just shed hair. You shed several hairs a day, so it's all good. If it IS broken hair and you are getting a lot of it frequently, do a protein treatment (use Organic Roots Stimulator mayonaisse or Aphogee 2 minute)

9)Try to put your hair up. Or protect your hair by leaving it in braids. DO NOT LEAVE BRAIDS IN TOO LONG or you will loose your hairline! growafrohairlong.com has a great regime for braids

10)Do not limit your hair care products to the "ethnic" section of walmart. A lot of that stuff is crappy.

Which is better for hair growth provillus or l-cysteine? What are the results of combining both?

I burnt my hair by perming it and had to cut it all off. I'm trying to grow it back but I've never had fast growing hair. I bought Provillus and L-Cysteine 500 mg and am taking them both. My hair seems to be growing but the ends look burnt on my hair. I'm trying to figure out if taking these two together is a bad combination or if it is helping and it is something else that is making my hair do this crap. I'm 34 yrs old and I need to keep what I have before it all falls out. I am also using F.A.S.T shampoo and conditioner. I'm just wondering is all this helping or making it worse.

Which is better for hair growth provillus or l-cysteine? What are the results of combining both?

i think taking it together is okay but the problem isnt in the medicine. you should keep on trimming the ends, trimming actually makes your hair grow faster, and that combined with medicine will take the burn look away and add length. good luck!

Can straightening your hair stop hair growth?

I usually straighten my hair once or twice a week. my hair is thick and wavy, and i'm trying to grow it to the middle of my stomach by october. If i keep straightening my hair a lot, will my hair stop growing? what should i do?

Can straightening your hair stop hair growth?

no, as long as you take care of your hair. strightening your hair damages it. if you do not take special care of your hair it slows done the proccess.

Can straightening your hair stop hair growth?

thanks! that helps! Report It

Can straightening your hair stop hair growth?

use heat protector.

Can straightening your hair stop hair growth?

no your will grow no matter what

Can straightening your hair stop hair growth?

yea definatly. it drys out your hair and it breaks off and stops growth. if you have to straighten, be sure to use iron guard or straigtning cream to protect it from the heat.

Can straightening your hair stop hair growth?

No way straighting your hair will not make it stop growing.. my mom has been in beauty and hair for 20 years trust me i would know.. straightening harmless i used to do it like 4 times a week and my hair grew pretty long so don't worry about it.. good luck with growing your hair!

Can straightening your hair stop hair growth?

Straightening your hair won't stop hair growth, but it may weaken your hair and cause it to break off at the ends making it seem as if your hair isn't growing. Also, if you're only straightening once or twice a week I wouldn't worry about it. I straighten my hair everyday but use Mane N' Tail shampoo to keep it healthy and make sure the setting on my straightener is lower so that it causes less damage.

Can straightening your hair stop hair growth?

once or twice a week should be ok. However I would still use something for flat ironing.(smooth n shine flat iron works great). I also have very thick and wavy hair and got this tip from my salon. It seems to have worked great and keeps my hair silky instead of drying it out.

Can straightening your hair stop hair growth?

it could stop growing because its bad for ur hair due to the heat and all but as long as u only use it once or twice a week, i don't see any harm in that. as long as u don't straighten ur hair like 3 times a day like some people...

Can straightening your hair stop hair growth?

It wouldn't stop growing but would be balding....you see the difference? To make it explicit...the existing ones would still grow longer to your stomach or whatever part of your desired organs but some portion maybe damaged by over straightening process and stop growing...drop off eventually and gradually....
